The top set of main speakers in our showcase room are finally flown!! I know, things don't always happen fast...but I do try to keep moving and getting things done. The top set of mains are pointed away from the stage out into the room, and we have a set of speakers that are lower that are basically side fills pointed toward the stage back at the band. Those are currently sitting on top of the two subwooofers in the room, but the plan is to build a shelf that mounts to the wall that puts the sidefills at ear level. We also have finally hooked the subwoofers back up in the showcase room, and they sound great! Kicks you in the chest sitting at the back of the room on the couch.
We also outfitted the rest of our rooms with main speakers. So rooms 1 through 5 now have both main speakers hung from the ceilings as well as a pair of floor monitors. For those of you who had a hard time getting your vocals loud enough in our smaller rooms, now come try them out. We are looking forward to upgrading a few other things this year as we get back into the swing of things. We will be relplacing all of our handheld vocal microphones with Audix OM5s, which are an amazing microphone. They sound great and will help us dramatically cut any feeback issues in the smaller rooms. For those of you who are die hard Shure SM58 fans, once you try these out you won't want to ever sing on a 58 again, trust me.
